Good Friday - what's so damned good about it?

Well, aside from the fact that most everyone is off work, and it's QUIET. The phone has only rung once today.

Had a call from a cruise line today wanting to work with us - WHOOP! That was the most magnificent thing - it gave me chills. After that, my energy plunged. Somehow, I agreed to go with Mikey to his family's Cajun Easter Catfish Cookout in Orange.

ORANGE! I've never been to orange. However, you can see WHERE I've been before.

Going out tonight to hunt the dancer/hooker/bullrider Brim at EJ's. I wonder if Jarred got his Fabulair shirt yet?

The pineapple, delivered

The Minx brought me a pineapple today. Along with it, he recited to me the opening lyric from The Pineapple song (which you can find in the archives, herein) Amazing.

It was so touching. Would that it only have come from someone who was INTERESTED, but it was lovely in any event.

Finally have the wireless router working, not that it's been needed. Cleaning up and catching up (which seems to be the order of the day.)

Strangely, I put in the next disc for "Angel: Season Five," and it was .. not linear. Did they forget to ship me one?

Next Monday's class discussion is about personal freedom - as in, freedom of choice. It should be interesting as long as we can stay on our discussion.

Tuesday morning -

The sun is shining, my lunch appointment canceled (no big surprise there) and the "Free Tax Advice" sign has already been turned on.

I'm going to work on some muse activities today, and do the manual labor that I didn't get to yesterday (because I was preparing for class.)

Class last night was interesting; we started off on a good footing, after Donna and I had hashed out the difficulty of our being so off track, and she asked that we focus our sharing on the principles that we're actually working on. Things dragged out a bit (as we had been off track for weeks) and then, after the break - HIJACK. More head-conversation (we might as well have all been sitting around dropping acid for all the relevance the conversation had) and I'm not sure it actually got back on track until just the last ten minutes went by.

Yet, things were good. John was there, which was nice (although he's dropping the class, which SUCKS.) I headed home, and got caught in a MINOR accident on I-45 at Tidwell which had all but one lane of the southbound closed, four police cars, six wreckers, one ambulance and NO ONE DIRECTING TRAFFIC. SafeClear my ass.

I think it's time to write my councilperson a note. Mercifully, she has a website.

Dinner with Lance tonight; he seems to be loving his new job. That's really great! More later.

Monday, Monday - ver. 627.01

Today is all about getting caught up with my homework for tonight's class. There is a ton of reading to be done, and I've been behind for weeks. Tonight's class should be different, as Donna has asked that we be more focused in our conversation.

Jayce has informed that 'he is still dating someone else.' This would be the same man that he's been on again off again with for ten years, and for whom he threw me over three years ago.

NEXT.

Anyway, that's the poop for today. Busy weekend, as I've written already.

A Sunday off

This is beyond unusual. I slept past the time I normally would have been dressed and on my way to New Vision. Now, I'm about to clean out Ruby, do some laundry, and go to Fry's to just .. shop around.

This is Mikey's 40th birthday weekend, and we've been hitting it pretty hard. Friday night, we went to EJ's, and sat out at the patio bar. It was PACKED, and the young dancer boys were in fine form. I kept them coming back (with tips, Mikey's too thrifty, and they don't orbit back around) so that he had the attention he deserved (after all, you only turn 40 ONCE, unless you lie about your age.) We were buying jell-o shots off of the jell-o shot boys, and I can't remember if we had eight each, or twelve. But, it was a lot. There was a very nice hispanic girl there who was clearly the "beard" for a few of the dancer boys, and I bought her a few drinks. She chatted us up a bit, and insisted that we meet her back there on Saturday night.

Not that we needed much persuasion.

Curt agreed to meet us out there, and we ambled over around 9:00 last night. It was VERY quiet, compared to Friday night. We hadn't been there but a few minutes, when this tall blond boy (who was wearing very little, he was clearly there to work) came up and glommed onto me like a barnacle. I know that I didn't tip him very much the night before, but .. there he was. He did the usual dancer thing of wandering around, but he kept coming back. Invited me to a party on Crystal Beach (uh, no) and said he's in town (he lives in Texas City) four nights a week to work at EJ's. Interesting.

Also, ran into Brandon, the boy with the word "FRY" branded on his butt. As he calls it, "My big old ghetto butt." That was fun.

Came home around 11:00, goofed around a while, and then slept until 9:00 this morning. WHAT a deal! Did you notice that I didn't mention Jarred? I didn't miss seeing him at all? Yeah, neither did I. When he skips back to J'burg in a few weeks, it will be no loss.

a bit later

Mikey and I just got back from Fry's and Wal-Mart; Wally World had silk drapes that were the right size, lined, $25/panel, and the color is close enough for government work. Thanks to Matticia for saving me about $170! Also had to replace my trusty Sony DVD player (six years old,) and buy a wireless router for the computer here at home.

So, I have to hang the drapes, fold laundry, install the DVD player, and the air filter, and walk the dogs .. and be ready for trash disco at 7:00. I need a nap, too!
