Long, but worth thinking about

So, here is the list of the CEO's in the US that made between $1MM and $5MM last year - only those. If they gave 1% of their income to benefit homelessness, drug addiction and other social causes, it would exceed the Federal government's funding for all of these programs. THIS is trickle down economics!!

Fair pay and compensation are one thing, Greed and reaping excessive pay and then claiming 'we cannot compete', is pure bunk. Not one of these people are worth the comp. package they recieve. But then again, who said any major league ball player would be worth morth than Mickey Mantle. Is their a ball player of that caliber? The total pay package for these few CEO's is a total package worth $1,897,990,988.00. How many workers would be removed from unmemployment if these wages were reduced and American citizens allowed to work. Which would generate a better tax base to communities? This singular example demonstrates a fundamental flaw in the notion of corporate loss and the need to shift work for lower wages to cheap labor nations such as China, South Asia and such places as Haiti, Dominican Republic, South and Central America.
This is only a partial list that covers between 1 and 5 million. The list was to long to put them all on.

Al

No, you can't have another chance

This just sent to membership@hrc.org:

You spend 46% of your funds raised on FUND RAISING. Unacceptable.

You supported Alfonse D'Amato for re-election
Your new president called for dialogue with the new Pope. You're existing on another planet. I am not interested in funding hope trips.

You spend less than 10% of your funds raised actually influencing legislation

You have made yourselves irrelevant in the political world; the LCR has more credibility than you do

You'd do better giving away your assets to the Task Force and sticking to throwing parties.

Ask and ye shall receive

Carol the dog sitter just called; she told me that on Sunday afternoon, the boy was sitting ont he sofa with "the girlfriend" as she put it.

So, who cares if he and I have anything to talk about? It's all based on falsehood. No big surprise there, huh?

Monty returns

E and I walked over to the Safeway to pick up some foodage for dinner, and we saw Monty and his boyfriend chatting up some other VERY fey couple on the street. Monte was VERY flirtatious again, and his boyfriend is .. hard to read. I give them less than a month.

Monty wants to come to Southern Decadance. If he did, he's the kind who would be arriving for the first cocktail, and then vanishing until it's time to catch the plane back home. Sean says he wants to go, but I am not believing THAT unless it happens, and I doubt that the boy will want to go, unless .. well, let's just not discuss that right now, shall we?

Mikey is starting his own business, which is a good thing. Ryan called yesterday, I MUST hop on that project, as it bears some substantial possibilities.

Yesterday, at the Smart shop (which is a Mercedes store) I spent some time playing around inside of a CLS500, which E said looked just like a Taurus. Today, while I was snoozifying, E saw a Bentley Continental GT on the roads and byways, and he thought - "That's a good D car."

It was even silver.

We're just chiling now. I am going to do some more packing in a little while here, and I'm basically all ready to go. I've been having weird thoughts all day about flying home, which is IRRITATING.

Just heard from the boy

Do I have anything to talk to him about? I'm thinking not.

Just had some foot reflexology. it was very nice. Sort of .. can make you wince if I push really hard HERE? No? How about if I rub really hard HERE? Or HERE?

It wasn't really reflexology. It was shiatsu foot massage.

Strange, Canadian dreams

We haven't had a dream update in some time.

Two nights ago, I dreamt that I was visiting with Larry, and I was fussing about a skin tag that I had. He told me that it was so easy to fix, one just cut into it with a little saw blade - like an un-hooked blade from a metal saw, and then one put a wet paste of Comet scrubbing powder onto the area, and the skin tag would disappear. After which time, there was a vertiable orgy of skin tag purging using blue Comet paste.

This morning, I had a dream that I was in a Science of Mind class that was quite conceptual but filled to the brim with students that I didn't know. We were discussing some .. thing .. which involved death, I think. Or something. Anyway, it seemed to me that it was pretty clear what the point was, and I put up my hand (and started speaking as I am want to do) and the teacher (a young, very pretty black woman) said "uh, no. someone else."

As in, I already talk too much.

I think that's it. Bueno!

Pre-packed

Yeah, I'm a pre-planner. I just packed my bags with all the stuff I'm not going to use before I leave in the morning. E is at work, and I'm here at his place, having some alone time before coming home to non-stop meetings and classwork. Yeek. I have a TON to do, and my time is all planned out.

Haven't heard from the boy since yesterday morning at 0700 Central. I asked Mikey to go check on him (my place) tonight after work. I keep having scattered thoughts about stuff going missing, but no dreams about it. However, the last time I had such thoughts (and didn't secure my place) that rat from Arkansas ran off with $400 of cologne. Of course, I was also away from home that time as well.

I have some more time before E comes back, and I guess I'll have a little laze.

Monday, YVR ver 1.01

We had quite the afternoon. I went back to have my massage appointment with Monty - who was VERY sweet. He's 6'3", about 30, very sexy. Not the most "trained" massage, but very pleasant. I would love to take him out to dinner, or something. Sheesh!

After that, we went and drove the smart car - a Mercedes micro. It was awesome! I think E is going to buy one - $25,000 CAD inclusive of the FIFTEEN PERCENT GST AND SALES TAX!!!!!!! Can you BELIEVE!!?

Then, we came back here for a while, had dinner with an old friend of Eric's at a nice waterfront bar, and then he dragged me out to the stripper bar. Duff's. Except that they don't have strippers anymore, except on Fridays. We then walked past three other gay bars, none of which had more than 15 patrons. The only interesting part of the adventure was stopping at the Scotia bank ATM and having some hooker appear in front of us THREE times - it was like the Matrix, where they change something because they're re-coding. Weird.

Anyway, I had ten phone calls today from clients, all at $.35 a minute. Donna called noticing that I was missing my first class.

I spoke to baby T today about picking me up at the airport on Wednesday, and he said something about having his boyfriend who can't make and keep an appointment to save his life come pick me up. So, I think I'll plan on taking the bus.

Anyway, we're planning our evening for tomorrow, and I'm about to make up my bed and get some more sleep. Haven't heard from the boy all day, which is weird. I'm having strange thoughts zinging through my head, like all my stuff has been pawned.

The Lord's day in the Lord's favorite place

Another glorious sunny day here. I saw the part of Vancouver that makes me want to live here. Therw=e are virtually NO SUVs here. And fewer pick up trucks. We went to Sears, which bought out the ritziest department store several years ago. The Sears in Canadia are nothing like the Sears in the US. Much more like Macy's with a tool section.

Eric is engaged in day #2 of "D, let's go have one drink." Last night, I prevailed. Tonight, I intend to as well. Eric's old boyfriend's new boyfriend just arrived today; he's a stew for Horizon, and is a hoot.

Mikey seems to have taken the rat bastard ex-boyfriend back in. He was incognito for the last 36 hours, and then failed to contact Sprintpcs to find out why I can't access short mail here in Canadia.

Things here are VERY laid back. Today, we were having breakfast at 1:30 (can you discuss pathology? We got up at 10:00, and Eric didn't have any urge to eat until I was about ready to shoot up a mall from low blood sugar issues and insisted that we had to eat) and two Vancouver cops pulled up to talk to a homeless guy that was panhandling on the sidewalk (liesurely, sitting up against the building.) They used no tasers, no night sticks, and no force - they chatted him up a while, and then left him unmolested.

Sunny days in YVR

So, firstly, we have to lay down and pay homage to Buhzilly who not only took me on a tour of CO ship 014 (Peter Max aka Mad Max) last night, but who got me upgarded on my flight up here last night.

They said that the flight was four hours and five minutes, but we left the gate at 8:38 and arrived at 11:07 and there were two hours consumed by time shifting, which by my way of counting is five hours. An agreeable flight, but very bumpy (not airline control issues) and they played the movie "Finding Neverland" which was charming.

The YVR airport is STUNNING - it's gorgeous, well thought out, peaceful ..

Of course, coming in at midnight, I didn't have a chance to see much. E's condo is lovely - LOVELY. We stayed up until about 2:00 nattering, and then went to sleep. It's a gorgeous, sunny day and we're about to run out and see some things.

The boy told me last night on the phone that he loved me. Wild.

Friday to YVR

Another sunny morning in H-town. Dinner last night was very nice; Debbie is such a terrific woman. I took her all the way into the gayborhood to Baba Yega, and she ran into John Frels there - whom she remembered from my 40th birthday party six years ago. That was fun. We sat on the front patio there, had a few cocktails (well, at least they were priced like cocktails .. after having had Jarred libations for the last few weeks, anything that doesn't induce blindness doesn't taste right.) The food was agreeable, and we (mostly I) talked about a lot.

Jason called several times - first to ask if I had bought him his concert ticket for the weekend (which started me to spinning) and then second to ask if I was still coming to see him, as I was running quite later than I had said.

EJ's was weird last night; Jarred was there, not working, DRUNK off his ass, mugging down with customers (men) and then stumbled out to try to drive home. The people who work there are damaged goods, man.

Have to get cleaned up and drive over to the college. An hour in each direction - that should be fun.

I feel like I've dropped some weight - I don't know. I wish that the yoga thing with Lance would work out.

Not in a pretty mood this morning; I feel like I'm making the same old mistakes about men, and I feel like ..well, blah. Working with a specific issue that's haunted me for nearly 25 years, and I'm feeling cranky about it.

Making me think. But does it make me feel?

I walk along right next to you
You seem to know just what to do
Your body tries to infiltrate
Our privacy it's hard to wait
Easy darling you can't ignore
All of the reasons that I love you for
The way we cook, the way you win
When you want to love me I just must give in.
Try not to break me baby you're so strong.
You mightn't think so but I know, you're so strong.
You picked me up and took me home
Straightened me out but didn't leave me alone
The way you hug the way you kiss
I don't know how much more I can take of this.
Try not to break me baby you're so strong.
You mightn't think so but I know, you're so strong.
I walk along right next to you
You seem to know just what to do
Your body tries to infiltrate
Our privacy it's hard to wait
Easy darling you can't ignore
All of the reasons that I love you for
The way you hug the way you kiss
I don't know how much more I can take of this.
Try not to break me baby you're so strong.
You mightn't think so but I know, you're so strong.
Try not to break me baby
Try not to break me baby
Try not to break me baby YOU'RE SO STRONG

Jason - the boy Posted by Hello

Thursday afternoon

Successful Fabulair meeting today. I am nearly ready for the trip to YVR tomorrow.

I'm still playing tax man, and other little gigs are coming in right and left, which is very cool. E is signalling that he's stressed out, and my visit isn't helping.

Dinner tonight with Debbie, my sister's partner, which should be great.

I heard from this wonderful young man today - someone I met nearly four years ago on a flight from Houston to Detroit. He's interning at BP in Houston this summer, and was asking about living here and such. He's a terrific guy - I'll be glad to reconnect wit him.

The heteroflexible one is totally sacked out. He came in around 5:30 a.m. and is exhausted. This after telling me last night that he needs to stop associating with bar and party people and spending more time with people like me.

I need to get down to fixing up these tax returns. Bleh. I have to edit/validate them, and get them ready for delivery. More later.

The definition of what's snoozing on the bed here...

heteroflexible (het.ur.oh.FLEKS.uh.bul) n. A heterosexual person who is open to relationships with people of the same sex. ~adj. Also: hetero-flexible, heteroflex

Hump day late

An interesting evening. Interesting, interesting evening.

After I saw Lloyd (who was UNABLE to put me back together fully) I came home, and picked up Jason, ran out to pick up a check, then did some errands - it was fun hanging out with him. Came back here, farted around and went to dinner with David and Mark (who I dislike intensely.) Jason was wearing a black satin shirt, had freshly shaved his head, nice jeans, fashionable shoes .. looked VERY good. We went to the original Ninfa's on Navigation - had a reasonably fun time; I was SO glad that Jason was there, as Mark was monopolizing the conversation totally (since he has nothing to contribute to ANYTHING, he has to monopolize David so that David and I can't talk about "adult" things.)

Came home from that, farted around some, watching "How to Marry a Millionaire" which was WONDERFUL, and Jason chatted me up quite a bit. He was going to go dance at EJ's Wednesday night contest, and asked me if I'd go for a little while. The movie ended, and I took the dogs out while Jason packed up his stuff for dancing, and who should I run into on the way out the door but ..

Joel.

Who looks like a corpse. I think he has a KS lesion on his face. He has bleached his hair, so now it's sort of cayenne pepper red. Weird. He said he would come right over to sign his tax returns .. and then, he didn't show up. I took Jason to EJ's, and THAT crowd was bizarre central. Jarred, the South African was there, and he was mugging down on some UGLY chick who kept giving Jason the eye. Jason kept hanging around me most of the time, which obviously cuts into his income. He goes to change into his dance togs, and I was SWARMED by dancers who figured that if Jason was glomming onto me, I must be good for some cash.

Of which I had none.

Anyway, Jason tells Jarred that he's now living with me, and that he's not going to be leaving anytime soon, and Jarred says that he (Jarred) has rented a one bedroom apartment to "hold his stuff." So, that leads to this long and involved conversation with Jason, in which he tells me about .. well, guys who have supported him, blah, blah .. and why he never got involved with any of them .. mostly because they were either into it for the flesh, or were compensating for a failed relationship that he figured they were going to go back to. He tells me that he's VERY happy being with me, and that he thinks it's the best thing that's happened to him in a very long time.

And then, he tells me that last night was the first night he's ever slept with another man .. not sexually, but just to crawl into bed with another man and snuggle. He said that he felt so comfortable doing it, it was just the right thing to do. So, he did. (fully clothed, but whatever.)

And THEN, he tells me that it really doesn't matter whether he's straight or whatever, he's not on the fence, this is about how his heart feels, and how my heart feels, and that he's not saying yes, no, never or maybe to having our relationship develop into something sexual, only that .. wherever it takes us jointly that we're both comfortable with it, so be it.

Most of this time, folks, he's wearing these little speedos and sitting on my lap.

I texted Mikey this afternoon and said "I must have lost my fucking mind."

I guess I have. I really like this man.

Happy Hump Day

So, last night at around 4:30, the solution to my big box issue came to me - right about the time that Jason flopped into bed. So, now, I have to execute this.

Lots of non-productive appointments today - have to get all this done in and around them. Almost time to get cleaned up and go meet Jayce for lunch.

Trevor was over last night for a while. About 1/3 of his visit was occupied by his boyfriend's telephone calling. I started to lose my temper.

Tuesday bluesday

Interesting day. FINALLY had a decent call from my Indigo Sun advertisement. Had a great meeting with the cruise lady.

Tristan/Jason was a HOOT - the cruise lady said (to the table) that when she came up, she thought he and I were a couple, and that Mikey was straight. Then, she said "I give it about a week before you've hopped the fence, baby."

I love her.

Tuesday -

Why are Tuesdays always more bluedays for me than Mondays? That's just weird, I guess.

I finished my online profile to teach a class for a new college; it was, of course, a complete duplication of the PAPER application that I had to submit. I had to search and apply for positions in order to complete my online profile, and, of course, madness reigns. I can't apply for a position teaching legal assitant, because .. I don't have an associates in legal assisant.

Dumb and dumberer.

I am about to tackle the big box (I guess, I'm still unmotivated) and it HAS to be done today. Ugly. I'm not doing anything else today but that.

I'm just feeling checkmated today. Of course, by the issue that I'm intent on clearing out and getting past; doesn't that just figure?

I think I'll finish the laundry and then get to work on the "box." More later.

from today's inspirational message

You are killing more of each other every day over your quarrels over religion than all other things put together, because you cannot even come to an agreement about what you think God says, or wants for you. On one side of the world God wants something different than the other. On one side of the room, in one side of your mind, God wants something different than on the other. The power is within you. You are extensions of this powerful Source Energy. You are literally God expressing in this physical body. And so, as you are standing in a thought, or in a word, or in an action that feels good to you as you are standing there—then you are fully open and allowing all of that Divine Energy to flow through you. And in that moment you are all that you said you would be when you decided to come forth into this body. You are the extension of pure positive energy. You are in your full creative power. You are thriving. You are clear-minded. You are joyful. You are filled with love. You are who you are—you are allowing that which you really are.

From the workshop 9/30/00

Came home tonight from class; we had to do a eulogy about ourselves, and present it to the class orally. I thought about mine for a LONG time over the last five days, then typed it out cold this morning. It was very good.

I have been thinking about posting it here. I'm undecided.

Monday, Monday ver. 630.01

More thoughts inspired by Donna's comments of the other day about the existence of God (this was my response this morning):

I thought about this last night for a long time.

I've decided that Donna brings up a point that can't be argued successfully (right now) about whether there is a God-presence. The very nature of our ongoing discussion that "there is only one" suggests that there is no separate, all-knowing wizard God that I cannot (until Donna started this thread) divorce from my thoughts about how things work.

Last night, though, I went to quantum physics to associate with the oneness. That concept that everything is wave energy until observed (whether visually or through creative imagination, which is vision without response to external stimulus) I think, irrefutably exists, and responds to our thoughts. What if Donna is right in that we're all that there is, but that the collection of all of the "we" out there create a common intelligence that does know everything?

Anyway, I think that this discussion just leads to the conclusion that we (you, you and me) MUST take on active creativity in directing how we want the world to work and exist for us. In this manner, what we're studying is absolutely valid, as it focuses on control of thought patterns, guiding our thought patterns, and uncovering/releasing old/existing belief structures and (my favorite) self-definitions that pump out into the creative whole and pollute what we are intentionally trying to create.

Given that our experiences are defined by what we understand about ourselves and the world around us, it still seems to me that everything still happens at the perfect time - not because (necessarily) some God-control panel says so, but because, as we individually have the ability to move forward, our understanding or seeing of an event, whether now or past, changes and we are able to accept a different interpretation or choice.

I think that the collective medium is benign, neither positive or negative except as the collective thinking into it shapes it. As soon as the collective medium stops receiving input that we would judge as "negative," it stops producing "negative." In that, it is "forgiving," as it remembers nothing and judges nothing.

It is the ultimate definition of "being in the now."

Yep.

There could be a new tenant in the Casita de Divo home for wayward bois. Tristan, who's really Jason, is a bartender/barback at our sleazy home away from home, EJ's. The place where my evil friend Mikey and I go to harass hustlers and ogle South African bartenders.

Said Tristan had difficulty in his living environment with his brother two Saturdays ago, and I offered him a place to stay for the night. He demurred, and stayed somewhere else. Saturday night last, I chided him for not calling to let me know he was okay, and he laughed, but said he'd call in the future. And, at 4:48 a.m. Sunday morning, he did. He called again around noon and asked if I wanted to hang out with him; he's been fun to be around, and I invited him to stay over, since he had a court appointment this morning at 9:00.

Right now, he's snoozing on the bed next to the computer desk. Things went well for him this morning, and I'm enjoying him being around. He's a very fun, pleasant man.

Of course, I reserve the right to pitch him out on his ear with accompanying complaints, but for now ..

I've gotten most of my homework for tonight's class completed, and it's time to finish that, and move on to the next project. I wrote out thank you cards to all of the tax clients and got them mailed off; that's nice to have that done. I got the stamps.com re-registered on the new machine, got some things faxed off, others mailed off, things are rocking right along.

I've decided against buying new jeans for the boy in YVR; even though E says I should bring them, I think I'll buy lunch or something instead. I reserve the right to change my mind, of course...

Interesting week lined up - lunch tomorrow with the lady from Olivia cruise lines, lunch Wednesday with Jayce (subject to cancellation,) board meeting Wednesday night, dinner with my sister's partner Thursday night, and then Friday evening - off to YVR!

Sending out little note cards that I found in a drawer over the weekend - who knew I had them?

Okay, still busying myself with busy work instead of tackling the hard stuff. BLEH.

Saturday evening, from a new computer

Does it show?

I'm trying to figure out several new features and things that this machine will do - it's too late to fiddle with configuration issues, and I have SO much to get done tomorrow.

My friend Donna asks:

What if there is no God?

And I think maybe there isn't. (Darlene, read Doug's message below.)

What if WE are all we've got? That there is no "higher power." No "universe." No "something greater than ourselves."

Think about a car. It has all it needs to run, built in. What if we're like that. We have all the power we need in us. Of course, we hear this all the time. But in new thought we're taught to rely on - wait for - the universe to bring us what we want. Ernest Holmes said it's our job to decide what we want. It's the universe's job to say how and when. That's where that serenity comes from. "It'll come when it's SUPPOSED to." When the hell is that? There is only NOW.

How is that any different than fundamentalism? Relying on an outside power to generate our lives?

I think maybe we're a complete package. I think the "higher power" is our Higher Self. I imagine it connected like a kite, but of such a high vibration we can't see it. It has the vision, we have the legs to move forward. What if we are all alone? Pretty scary, huh? What if YOU are an illusion in MY world? Even scarier?

This has had me thinking all afternoon and evening.

What about past life memories? What about working examples of cause and effect?

What about the commonly held belief across all religions that there is a higher power?

Is that all just bupkiss to sate the human need for "why?" Why have I had the experience of "oneness?" Is that just crap?

Went out on Safari tonight - BORing. Tristan was VERY sweet, and seemed to suggest he wants to hang out tomorrow. He seems like a nice man.

It's almost 1:00 a.m., and so it's nearly time to get some sleep. I'll have more to say about change, creating change, and whether there is a God or not in the morning.

Review, revised

I spent some time last night re-reading my posts from late 2002 and early 2003. I'm sort of processing through all of that; it seems to me that I haven't had any material change in my circumstanes, only the anxiety has abated sharply.

Oh, and I used to write better. It was more engaging, but more dramatic.

So, is that acceptable? I think not. The level of change, not the writing quality.

I'm busily installing software on my new hard drive.. we're doing a total re-format re-install of everything to get it cleaned up. It's amazing how much software there IS to install. I have discs of stuff that I just don't need anymore (outdated, whatever) and so another thing we're going to do is to nuke all the CD-ROMs that are no longer needed.

I noticed how much (nearly everything) of my "wish" list I had completed over the two years in the review period. Most of that has been done THIS year. Now, there is yet more stuff to be sorted, cleaned, tossed out, whatever. Amazing. However, things are in relatively decent shape as far as home maintenance goes.

By tomorrow evening, I'll have everything done save for the Fabulair business plan and the mortgage business plan (which I haven't started writing yet.) That will occupy next week, I guess.

I have to write a eulogy for myself - set in the future - by Monday night. I really have it rattling around in my head. This issue of change - directing it or just responding to it - is going to be central in what I do write for the project.

Still installing software. CP has convinced me to work with him in the mortgage business, on the side, and recruiting realtors as loan officers. Sounds very interesting.

The final day of tax season (liberated)

I'm mostly done. Just the big ol glob to finish up, and I have that neatly sorted, and am doing my data entry/synthesis. Free until later tonight, when I have dinner with Lance, whom I haven't been seeing very often, because his job is SO going great.

I just had a LONG conversation with Darlene about change, creating change, reacting to change and the differences therein. We have to write a eulogy about ourselves for our class on Monday night; we have to project into the future and write about what we learned in life, how we affected people, how we are viewed by others after we died, and how we failed. At least, that's how I'm taking on the assignment.

So, I have my mind a-buzz about .. what am I going to do next? I've truly come to the end of this little wagon train. Tax season is over, and something else has to be done. I don't want to go backward (read: mortgage business) I was talking to Darlene about how one becomes a person who creates change rather than someone who reacts to it.

I think that most of the people in the world are just developing their facility with managing change and fear; they're not out there making something happen (except as it applies to mangaging imposed change.) I believe that I've developed about as much facility with managing change and circumstance as one would ever need; now it's time for something new.

How would this look? Burying the past for good. Burying my definition of who I am and how I look. Burying my definition of what I can accomplish. Burying my definition of myself and relationships with men. Burying my definition of my acceptance in the gay community.

E is planning out my visit to YVR in a week. He's going to have a little mini-party so that I can meet his friends. I think I need to have Guy's help in picking out what to wear and bring up there. He's already telling me that my entire way of dressing needs to be revised.

And he certainly has a point.

Anyway, that's where the thought processes are taking me today.

Hours left, and then tax time is over

well, except for the procrastinators.

So far this year, I've done 42 tax returns, which compares very favorably to the 72 I did last year while working for v-man. I've done more business returns this year, and have fewer extensions to follow up on. If I'm still in this business next year, it will prove to be a good thing. Work less, make more.

Mikey's on his way over, as are three different tax clients to pick things up. I have to do some more work today, and tonight is all about staying in and being quiet.

It seems that my Angel muppet doll was shipped today. Interesting.

just before bedtime

Got to finally watch 'Six Degrees of Separation,' which I had never seen before. Great movie! What a great job Stockard Channing did!

After tomorrow, all of this crap here in the den/office will be put AWAY! Whoop!

Happy Hump Day

I don't remember my allergies being this bad. Or, maybe I do and I don't think about it. Hard to recall.

Time to get to fishing or cutting bait on tax returns for the day. Off I go!

Tuesday, April 12, 2005

Three days left -

Yep, just three days.

Tomorrow, I have a jump start on clearing through the rest of the tax work that's sitting here - one client just found a whole BUNCH of financial records that are .. God help us .. ORGANIZED! Whoo!

Watched a really cool movie tonight - "The Trip."

This allergy thing is really getting on my nerves. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring some relief in that area.

Sunday -

Interesting day - not enough sleep last night, didn't want to go to church this morning, hung out with Nicole for a few hours, which was great, and then a quick dinner with Guy and home to watch a truly yuckie DVD from Netflix. Why must all movies about gay people focus on AIDS? Is there no other element of our lives?

Tomorrow has been hijacked by PJ. She purports to be willing to help me with some things, which is well and good, but .. I need to get some things done that are already assigned.

Last night was fun and amusing. We sat with Jarred for the first time in more than a month, and he was showering me with affection and flirtation. I have a lunch date with him on Friday, and a commitment to let me take him out for his birthday on the 12th.

The oak pollen is just kicking my ass lately. I need to go to bed here pretty soon, and see if I can sleep through its effects.

Sunny Saturday

Well, what a gorgeous day we're having .. the last few days, we've had what my friend Guy calls "Chamber of Commerce weather." How true.

Had lunch at the Grand Luxe cafe today - okay, $13 for a hamburger with crappy friends and obsequious service? Perhaps not again.

Already cleaned up the apartment, picked up the dry cleaning. Have to spend a little time doing some paperwork organization, and then it's time for relaxation. Don't know what the program is going to be tonight; Mikey and I were discussing returning to Jarred's bar. He bought the drinks last night, and has started to see the wisdom of hanging out at Jarred's bar, where the drinks seem to be free.

Ruby's 'service engine soon' light is staying on. I've decided that she needs a new fuel cap, instead of something expensive.

I've been mulling around some of the input I've had, and how I've been interpreting it. Obviously, I've moved on to the "next" issue, which involves people attacking me for what appears to be no reason. I need to do some processing on this one for a while, and read our stuff for Monday night. It may be linked to what I uncovered last week; I don't know just yet.

Okay, nap time and more contemplation.

Thursday, the normal meeting day

It's a glorious day here in Baghdad on the Bayou, and I have an open day to work on various paperwork that needs looking at. Kind of nice. Tonight, I'm having dinner with one of my favorite people, with whom I don't get to spend very much time anymore. She is a pianist, and was musical director for a number of musicals that I've been in, or at theaters where I was the administrator. She's brilliant, laid back, wonderful and I'm really looking forward to seeing her.

I am expecting my favorite sexually ambiguous "straight" boy to join us - he's a masseur (when he works) and I haven't seen him for months. Last time I saw him, we got quite drunk at my apartment, and he was flopping around on the sofa, playing with his (very flat) belly and grousing about how women don't give good head. I just left it alone.

The National Rifle Association is expecting as many as 60,000 people at its annual convention in Houston next week. Yeep!

Tuesday - manifestation day!!

Well, today, I am manifesting. I have to spend a little time getting more clear about just what all I am GOING to manifest, but that's what today is all about. Manifestation Tuesday.

I realized this morning that I can stream XM online now (it's a new feature of theirs.) YAY!

I think we're going to have rain today - it sure looks that way.

Been talking to different office suite operations about plunking Fabulair down at one of them. That's a few weeks away, but it's going to have to happen.

Okay, it's time to either screw around some more or get some work done!

Monday, Monday ver. 629.01

Well, it was a hoot of a weekend. Mostly.

Friday evening, I decided that my auto insurance renewal was TOO high, and I started shopping. On the internet, of course, since I don't actually do these things until after business hours and need to find my information online. Yes, I saved $430.00 every six months with GEICO. Yes, I surely did. Even after Allstate responded to my policy change requests, their policy was over $320 more than GEICO. So, I'm now insured by the gecko. After saving that much money, I was feeling frisky, and bought myself a reward ticket on Continental to YVR to visit E later this month. I paid $29.60 for this ticket (whoop!) so that's going to be lots of fun.

Mikey and I went out on Friday night (Brim hunting) which was singularly unrewarding. Jarred (the South African bartender) told Mikey to tell me that he had received his Fabulair shirt, blah. Couldn't bother telling ME thank you, but of course, I'm ignoring his sorry self, and haven't gone up to him and ASKED for thanks.

Kelly from Dallas showed up (what a shock) and Brim immediately began climbing him like a cat post. Why is this? I don't know. Anyway, Curt was kind enough to spirit me out of there quickly, and I came home to delete most of the worthless men from my cell phone memory.

Saturday, I farted around, and had the AWESOME meeting with the woman from Olivia. That was three hours, and then I came back here to do some work. Saturday evening, Mikey and I went to a new Wally World (what a disappointment THAT was) and then stopped at Curt's house for a bit. Came back here and screwed around on the computer for hours until I realized that, with the time change, it was already 1:30 in the morning.

Sunday morning, of course, I had to leave for church early. Breakfast at Barnaby's (this is standard routine) and then off to Clear Lake. Arrived, everything was catawampus, and I had a real attitude as I was putting things out where they needed to be. The conversation (once people showed up) was really great, and we had a good time with that.

Came home, changed clothes quickly and went to Bradley's Birthday Luau. Had a great time there, although it was mostly a freak show. I entered the raffle for the five prizes that they had, and won two of them. Pictures attached. Also happened home with a stray, who will probably be gone before you think to call me and dog me about it.

So far this morning, things are moving right along. I'm about to start working on my homework for tonight, and then I have mail to get out, and tax returns to do. Very fun. More as it happens.

Friday, April 01, 2005

I saved $440 with GEICO!!

I really did.

A totally unrewarding evening at EJ's with Mikey and Curt. Jarred the bartender, who hasn't the decency to call, text or smoke signal had the temerity to tell Mikey that he got the shirt I sent him, but didn't have the guts to speak to me directly. Brim was all over the bar, and I was over him in about 30 seconds flat. Now, I smell like smoke, I have a headache and I'm just plain revolted about the concept of gay men in general.

Exchanged a few messages with Jayce tonight; why on earth did I think that things would be different with him? Had a message from Judy's kid; another "what the fuck am I thinking?" and an exchange with Trevor, who's all off doing his thing with his lying, cheating boyfriend.

I just need to get a grip.

In addition to spending nearly $50 less on my auto insurance renewal today, I bought a ticket to see E in Vancouver for $29.60 (using OnePass miles.) I'm very happy to be going to visit him; it's been since the week before Johnny died that I've seen him, and I've never been to the city with the highest standard of living in the world before.

Things today work-wise went quite well; got a whole lot cleared out here. Lunch tomorrow with the Olivia woman, which is exciting.

Have a bunch of tax returns to complete tomorrow; now that I have the decks cleared, maybe I can get them done.

Monday, Monday ver. 628.01

What a day. Without going into (very personal) detail, I ran headlong into some issues that should probably have been handled in the IFLP back in 1996. They were so strong that, after I felt like shooting up a Starbucks (after having been told that shooting up a post office was too 1990's) I got sick and had to sleep.

I went to class, even after questioning whether it would be productive, and it was. I didn't get down TO it, but I got some relief and clarity, and hopefully I'll get more progress.

Ruby's stereo is MUCHLY improved, and I think it's going to seriously rock after Wednesday when Joey re-wires the front channels. I wrote a letter to ROCS who installed the system back in May 2002, and told them that they were lying dirty bastards (I didn't, however, call them republicans) and I'm sure that nothing further will come of that.

I got a bunch of other stuff mailed out today; tomorrow, it's all about .. what? The eight corporate tax returns, or the Fabulair business plan? One or the other.

Spent an hour today trying to find out how to activate my OnStar. I have to find an analog cellular plan to support it. No luck yet.

Time for some sleep. The Rev called today; they rescheduled the class from Sunday to tomorrow night .. the ONLY night I had free.

A little later, the car stereo and the DVD are resurrected

Had my car's stereo worked on today; turns out that I probably have a bad monster cable from the head unit to the amplifier rack in the trunk. Rather than trouble-shoot the problem and fix it, they bridged the front channel input, and the also managed to use a front channel output to run the subwoofer. Now, we have all the connections correct, and the short in one door speaker fixed - Wednesday, he's coming back to check the monster cable, fixing the stereo (I can get another 20% out of it, I'm just sure) and then installing the OnStar.

Mikey fiddled with the menu settings on the new DVD player, and now my living room sounds like the local multi-plex. WOW. It's awesome.

Nicole brought over a new two-drawer plastic file cabinet for me; it's TERRIFIC - I put the printer/MFC on it, which brought it down to eye level, and created a bunch more flat space to PUT things on. Plus, I can split out some file drawers in my three drawer cabinet, which creates a WHOLE lot more space for the Divo when he's working. Thanks to Nicole, who's lovely and wonderful!

Tomorrow brings a whole day of productivity, I hope.

Talked to Jayce a bit yesterday, that was very nice.

Okay, back to the home theater, and then to bed!

Sunday and the re-birth of whoever you believe in

The blood sugar is too high today - 151. Not that I've been eating Easter candy, I haven't. I think I've been gaining weight again, and that's from sitting around in this computer chair for 14 - 18 hours a day, and not moving.

Woke up this morning (after spending from 4:00 to 5:30 wide awake thinking about things and listening to the storm) and found that the dogs had already taken care of business on the kitchen floor. So, that was impetus to clean said kitchen floor (again, I had done it on Friday) and to again wonder why the hell I have these two dependant animals.

I have skipped going to church today so that I can make a stab at getting caught up. Joey is coming over today (yeah, sure) to re-wire my car stereo and take a stab at putting in the OnStar .. Trev has the installation books for the OnStar, which suggests that I need to get him over here before we can ..

It's hopeless. I just need to make an appointment with a real stereo shop.

Have my homework for tomorrow's class done, at least.

Friday night, I was watching "Angel: Season Five" and saw the episode where Angel is turned into a muppet. Mikey promptly found me one online, and in a week or so, he'll be residing in the Divo ToyStore.

Good Friday - what's so damned good about it?

Well, aside from the fact that most everyone is off work, and it's QUIET. The phone has only rung once today.

Had a call from a cruise line today wanting to work with us - WHOOP! That was the most magnificent thing - it gave me chills. After that, my energy plunged. Somehow, I agreed to go with Mikey to his family's Cajun Easter Catfish Cookout in Orange.

ORANGE! I've never been to orange. However, you can see WHERE I've been before.

create your own visited states map

Going out tonight to hunt the dancer/hooker/bullrider Brim at EJ's. I wonder if Jarred got his Fabulair shirt yet?

The pineapple, delivered

The Minx brought me a pineapple today. Along with it, he recited to me the opening lyric from The Pineapple song (which you can find in the archives, herein) Amazing.

It was so touching. Would that it only have come from someone who was INTERESTED, but it was lovely in any event.

Finally have the wireless router working, not that it's been needed. Cleaning up and catching up (which seems to be the order of the day.)

Strangely, I put in the next disc for "Angel: Season Five," and it was .. not linear. Did they forget to ship me one?

Next Monday's class discussion is about personal freedom - as in, freedom of choice. It should be interesting as long as we can stay on our discussion.

Tuesday morning -

The sun is shining, my lunch appointment canceled (no big surprise there) and the "Free Tax Advice" sign has already been turned on.

I'm going to work on some muse activities today, and do the manual labor that I didn't get to yesterday (because I was preparing for class.)

Class last night was interesting; we started off on a good footing, after Donna and I had hashed out the difficulty of our being so off track, and she asked that we focus our sharing on the principles that we're actually working on. Things dragged out a bit (as we had been off track for weeks) and then, after the break - HIJACK. More head-conversation (we might as well have all been sitting around dropping acid for all the relevance the conversation had) and I'm not sure it actually got back on track until just the last ten minutes went by.

Yet, things were good. John was there, which was nice (although he's dropping the class, which SUCKS.) I headed home, and got caught in a MINOR accident on I-45 at Tidwell which had all but one lane of the southbound closed, four police cars, six wreckers, one ambulance and NO ONE DIRECTING TRAFFIC. SafeClear my ass.

I think it's time to write my councilperson a note. Mercifully, she has a website.

Dinner with Lance tonight; he seems to be loving his new job. That's really great! More later.

Monday, Monday - ver. 627.01

Today is all about getting caught up with my homework for tonight's class. There is a ton of reading to be done, and I've been behind for weeks. Tonight's class should be different, as Donna has asked that we be more focused in our conversation.

Jayce has informed that 'he is still dating someone else.' This would be the same man that he's been on again off again with for ten years, and for whom he threw me over three years ago.

NEXT.

Anyway, that's the poop for today. Busy weekend, as I've written already.

A Sunday off

This is beyond unusual. I slept past the time I normally would have been dressed and on my way to New Vision. Now, I'm about to clean out Ruby, do some laundry, and go to Fry's to just .. shop around.

This is Mikey's 40th birthday weekend, and we've been hitting it pretty hard. Friday night, we went to EJ's, and sat out at the patio bar. It was PACKED, and the young dancer boys were in fine form. I kept them coming back (with tips, Mikey's too thrifty, and they don't orbit back around) so that he had the attention he deserved (after all, you only turn 40 ONCE, unless you lie about your age.) We were buying jell-o shots off of the jell-o shot boys, and I can't remember if we had eight each, or twelve. But, it was a lot. There was a very nice hispanic girl there who was clearly the "beard" for a few of the dancer boys, and I bought her a few drinks. She chatted us up a bit, and insisted that we meet her back there on Saturday night.

Not that we needed much persuasion.

Curt agreed to meet us out there, and we ambled over around 9:00 last night. It was VERY quiet, compared to Friday night. We hadn't been there but a few minutes, when this tall blond boy (who was wearing very little, he was clearly there to work) came up and glommed onto me like a barnacle. I know that I didn't tip him very much the night before, but .. there he was. He did the usual dancer thing of wandering around, but he kept coming back. Invited me to a party on Crystal Beach (uh, no) and said he's in town (he lives in Texas City) four nights a week to work at EJ's. Interesting.

Also, ran into Brandon, the boy with the word "FRY" branded on his butt. As he calls it, "My big old ghetto butt." That was fun.

Came home around 11:00, goofed around a while, and then slept until 9:00 this morning. WHAT a deal! Did you notice that I didn't mention Jarred? I didn't miss seeing him at all? Yeah, neither did I. When he skips back to J'burg in a few weeks, it will be no loss.

a bit later

Mikey and I just got back from Fry's and Wal-Mart; Wally World had silk drapes that were the right size, lined, $25/panel, and the color is close enough for government work. Thanks to Matticia for saving me about $170! Also had to replace my trusty Sony DVD player (six years old,) and buy a wireless router for the computer here at home.

So, I have to hang the drapes, fold laundry, install the DVD player, and the air filter, and walk the dogs .. and be ready for trash disco at 7:00. I need a nap, too!

Bizarre twist-ties

This movie I'm watching, "Dark City," was recommended by my friend Matticia, and it's just plain WEIRD. I mention this to a few IM friends, and they all think it's a great movie.

Baby T was here a while tonight; spinning away. He left pretty settled, but .. oof. I got more tax returns done tonight and .. something else, but now I forget.

I have a ton to do tomorrow, so I need to hit the sack tonight.

Tuesday taxes

All these taxes rushing in to be completed! A guy that I met months ago at JR's finally wants his done, the corporate catch-up that I quoted two weeks ago today says "yea," when the other day it was "nay," and so on. Oof!

A tale of four men (three stupid, one wonderful)

Tale #1

There's this guy on manhunt that I've been "doing" for a few months. He says he's not married, but he acts like he is. For the last three weeks, when I've sent him a message on manhunt, I have a 50/50 of a monosyllabic reply.

All he's interested in is being "serviced," which, I assert, is just more work for the Divo. Unpaid work. This morning, he sends me a message on manhunt (I stopped saying hello to him about a week ago)asking me if I have time to "work on him."

I reply "when," he says "soon," I reply "like in a few minutes, a few hours, a few days, a few weeks?" He says "in a few minutes" I say "no," He says I'll check back with you soon. I say "don't bother"

Tale #2

This one is about Travis, the chiropractor. He calls and calls and calls and calls
"can we get together," which is a euphemism for "can I come over, massage you and collect some money?"

Last night, I write him an email a.) your massage technique is either crap or it's mind altering, b.) your ability to keep appointments sucks, c.) you're priced out of the market

That should curtail the endless phone calling.

Tale #3

PJ, whom you will remember got into a cascade of stupid little shit with the law and spent about two years in the hands of TDCJ. He's out now. He (today) asked me if I'd co-sign a student loan for him

Tale #4

Jayce, the lad that I had the date with last Wednesday called yesterday. Said he was going to stop by at 4, didn't hear further from him; I thought quite seriously about applying 'the rule' to him, the rule that says "no more calling." So, I came home from my class about 10:30, and I get this voice mail from him .. he's on the Gulf Freeway headed this way, I should call him back. So, I did, he came over - we had a nice time together. Two fun things, first, he says he's sorry that he hasn't been able to spend more time with me since we had our first date, and that he won't be able to until after spring break, which suggests that's the direction his thinking is going. Second, he asks me why I'm being so nice to him I said "Maybe Im just a nice guy." He says he never thought so I said "maybe I'm just trying to get you into bed"
He says "I'm already in your bed"

He's sweet, and fuzzy and cute.

Tonight, I'm commitedly staying in and watching DVDs. My first disc of Angel season five comes in tomorrow. Can you see me smiling?

Post-metaphysical giggle

Well, I came home tonight from my prac class in Spring, all ready to turn around and drive back out to the airport to meet up with a F/A from Mid-Atlantic who was coming in and wanted to meet for a drink. I got into a lightly heated debate with Nicole about taxes and government spending (basically, she and I both think there is a HUGE amount of waste in government spending, and that the military can make do with a lot less, that we have no business defending Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and Korea, that governments shouldn't be doing advertising at all (except to tourists) and that the proposed sales tax/business payroll tax in Texas is a bad idea.

I think that if she and I had each a pack of red sharpies and the budget and a month, we could pare the thing down to something reasonable.

Anyway, I came home, and was finishing up my conversation with her, and my voice mail notification went off, which was weird. I hung up with Nicole, and listened to my voice mail (there had been a call from Travis the Chiro while I was in class, and I really didn't want to hear what he had to say) and it was Jayce. He was on his way back from Baybrook Mall, and he said I should call him back.

So, I did. He was just at that moment driving past the exit to my place, so I asked him if wanted to stop by. And, he did.

Choices. Blow off the F/A from Mid-Atlantic (who's got a husband already) for a man who could become a husband. Hmm.

Anyway, today was a productive day. More will follow in the morrow.

Monday, Monday (ver. 626.01)

Making progress already this morning. Corporate tax extension deadline is tomorrow, and I have only two more to go. Shredding mis-printed documents and stuff, filing, getting things organized.

later on

Okay, most of the tax work is done, most of the filing is done, the Fabulair Janus documents have gone out, and why does the bed in here still look like it's been overrun with paper?

Now, I have to do some simple zero dollar 940/941 returns, and get cleaned up, as Jayce is coming over about 4:00.

Trash disco

Curt called me as I was driving home from church/study group around 4:00 - he insisted that I join him for trash disco at the Mining Company .. I acquiesced. I was in a foul mood, and instead of napping (which I wanted to do) I cleaned up my apartment. He came by about 7:20, and we dashed over to the Mine, which has not functionally changed since the very early 1980s when I moved here.

Back in "the day," a DJ named John Sims used to work at the Mine, which always had outstanding music. Now, he only works Sunday nights from six to ten, and it's just like time travel. Most of the crowd is older (meaning, we were all there back in "the day.") The vodka is $1.50, and the music ROCKS. We were only there until 9:30, but what a wonderful lift. Song after song comes crashing over you, like surf upon the shore, and you remember how wonderful that time was in life.

I'm planning my 50th birthday party already. I don't know just where I'm going to hold it, but I'm going to do a Frank Sinatra type show with Guy and an orchestra, and then have John Sims spin records for a few hours.

Have a TON of stuff to accomplish tomorrow, both with client taxes and with Fabulair. Have to bring in some money, too.

Time for sleep, if my upstairs neighbor stops quarrying rock.

The PSoRC houses Ruby for the fourth night in a row

The PSoGJ has been occupado for days now. T called as I was driving home from UHCL, and told me that they had cooked up some appointments this afternoon, and that Ruby's wiring harness would have to wait. Not that it was a surprise; I was rather expecting same.

Anyhoo, at lunch, I learned that Isaac, my favorite waiter replacement for Ben (who can never be replaced, and who's been irritatingly silent since moving back to Austin to finish his master's) is leaving in two weeks for another part of the country, and that T&A have been hitting the streets again, sexually speaking. This presages another relationship melt-down, in which I will be again asked to mediate.

And this time, I'm going to tell them that they've made their bed, and can lie in it. No pun intended.

I myself failed to "spend" the $9MM in the game I set up last week for the study group. I only "spent" 10%. I simply can't see myself in some huge house, or owning a bunch of houses hither and yon. I'd like to have a few old Imperials. I'd love to spend some money fixing Ruby up. I'd like to have the townhouse that I "bought." I'd love to have some very nice clothes. And then, I'd like to travel, travel, travel. And, I'd like to keep working with business concepts that I cook up. And make a difference in gay people being accepted in this world. Other than that, I really don't think I could use that much.

More dreams

I was just thinking - last night, I had a dream about trying to meet up with Donna and Lisa, my two lady friends who are helping with Fabulair, and I was in some part of Houston that I didn't recognize at all. It was industrial, and right on the water. I had parked my car, and was walking to meet them, and there were all these weird, quasi-art deco buildings with Indian style domes and such .. and there were Indian people who were selling things out of these .. factories. I wandered into one of them, and a very handsome, tall Indian man offered to show me around. They had an eclectic assortment of bright clothing, men's suits (that were very .. ethnic? the coats were the style that are knee length, but they were kind of cool) and wooden roll top desks. It was very sunny outside, and there were rusted, small submarines tied up to the rotted docks out back. The Indian man told me that they transported their imported goods in the submarines.

After I looked through everything with him standing there, radiating welcome and friendship, I thanked him, and the other people who were in the shop/factory, and walked back out into the sunshine to go meet Lisa and Donna. That's when the dream ended (with the gentle sounds of "Living on Earth," the Saturday morning program on NPR.

Witches brewing

Strange what burps up when you're working on your inner psyche.

After teaching this morning, and after meeting Guy at Barnaby's to hear about my gay babies' latest sexual adventures (is it 1983 again?) I took a nap. Whilst snoozing, I started having these bizarre dreams about being in my grandmother's house, and that I had some witch (or witchlike woman) who had done something to me .. during this dream, I kept feeling like someone was clawing the back of my neck .. it was WEIRD. It almost felt like someone had two big lego, and was pinching the back of my neck.

Then, there were three guys whom I recognized, all of whom were in some dancing chorus. They kept telling me about the witch. Then, she was circling above the dance hall (which was my grandmother's house) and I somehow snagged her with a line of pure light. She was orbiting around, trapped like a fly on a string, and started reeling her in through the glass ceiling, while the dancing boys watched. She was talking trash in some insensible manner, and kept trying to get away while I pulled her in.

Right as I got her to the top of the glass ceiling, the lights in my bedroom started coming on, and I woke up.

I had a discussion with PJ's kid today; his attitude about affection and sex is just so .. wide open. He just wants to be happy, and is willing to be with whomever makes him happy.

What would the world be like if everyone felt that way? Not that everyone was sexually flexible, but if they just didn't think about how other people received their affection and affirmation? How much time is spent worrying, thinking, manipulating, pondering, talking about and trying to control how other people express themselves in love and in sex?

I think he may come to visit over Easter; I hope so. Maybe we'll meet in Dallas and hang out with my friends up there. I would love to spend more time with him; he's so pulled together in so many ways.

Okay, off to watch the rest of "Sunset Boulevard," and "Dark City."

Amazing ..

That just couldn't have gone any better if it had been scripted out and rehearsed. WOW.

Water washes away everything

I've actually been productive so far today - I've written about 70% of the Fabulair documentation that I need to have done, I've put away the last of the things that were taken off the walls when the guys re-carpeted, I've put away and organized all the music CDs into their cases which are neatly mounted on the guest room closet wall (above the VHS, the vinyl LPs and the sheet music) and organized my ten year collection of Airliners magazines and Trains magazines. WHOOP!

Now, I'm going to finish organizing my bedroom closet, clean the bathroom, vacuum, and dust .. and THEN, Trev is coming over, and needs me to cash a check for him, and I have to zip by Randall's to pick up stuff for my DATE TONIGHT!

He (the date) said the NICEST thing to me; "I'm just beaming red. I've always thought
you you as being fascinating, intelligent, all the qualities I enjoy."

Okay, I am now returning to the land of productivity!

A couple of steps forward, a step back

In this morning's news, I had a delightful dinner last night with my friend Billy, who is a redcoat for Continental, and whose father has worked for Southwest airlines for nearly thirty years. It was my first opportunity to brief him on Fabulair, and after I explained how it worked for him, he said "I want in. What can I do?"

Unfortunately, he doesn't have $250,000 lying around, but his efforts and input will be welcome.

And, my muse has returned.

The Marvin the Martian sweatshirt that I had wanted on eBay sold for $4.00 more than my maximum bid, more's the pity, and I have a date tonight with Jayce, who is a lad that I have thought highly desirable for YEARS. I ran into him on a hook-up website on Monday, and didn't know who he was (the headless horseman thing) Turns out that all my requests that we go out years ago didn't strike him as an expression of interest. So, the direct approach brought the reply "I never thought you were interested in me." "Who are you?" "Jayce" "You're KIDDING, right? I've always thought you were one of the most beautiful men on the planet!"

We have a date tonight.

I have finally brought in what to say about the seed money campaign for Fabulair. Have to work on that here today, and then work on the INCREDIBLE business that I'm starting with my favorite client after our meeting last night.

Where is Joey when I need to have the CDs alphabetized, and the magazines sorted and put in racks? Bleh.

Spring cleaning

Well, I started off doing quite well today. I got a number of things done, and then, I jammed my shredder, right in the middle of a jumbo tax return. I need to wait for T to come over and fix it for me, so now I've been uploading most of my picture files to Yahoo, and burning music off to CD-ROM so that I can free up some disc space.

Which is now nearly complete. I have laundered the sheets, and am about to exchange the bedcovers for the ones I bought on eBay oh, a year ago. I haven't jumped up to go do that yet.

I have about an hour and a half before my meeting with my favorite client at 5:00. I suppose I should make the best of it.

A puny excuse

Darlene, my prayer partner, tonight told us a story about her life that was .. jaw dropping. What she grew up with, and from where she came. Oh, my GOD. She is indistinguishable in her countenance and carriage from any other middle class person. She has re-defined herself and created a new reality that is a much greater step than for me to take myself from where I am to an international figure of importance with great wealth. Seriously.

I have to seriously look at my "story" about my limitations, and get a grip. So, tonight, after I fold laundry, send a fax to the TWC lady after re-creating my schedule for the first half of the year and take the dogs outside, I'm going to do more "dot connecting."

I've finished up in my mind what I'm creating with this whole Fabulair thing .. it's going to grow into an organization much like AARP, but for gay people. Marketing, branding, lobbying .. an organization that carries some weight behind it.

If we had something like AARP; something with a minimal membership cost, something where we could start to demonstrate our marketing horsepower, where we could offer group insurance for people with HIV, retirement plans, retirement villages, marketing consulting, death benefits, travel benefits .. and so on.

Naps and dreams - rainy Monday edition

I had a big old nap today; Monday is rather my Sunday, since Sunday is more like a Wednesday.

Anyway, during nap #2 (there was a telephone call that broke the omni-nap into two segments) I had a dream about Brian. I haven't thought about Brian in a great long time. In this dream (and, probably in real life) I was head over heels with Brian, and he was with me. Brian is one of the most stunning creatures I've ever met, and I met him right after Johnny's death in 2002. He has since orbited out, still lives in Houston so far as I can tell, as I occasionally run into him (see archives.) Anyway, it was very powerful (in the dream) how much I loved him.

I had the most unusual experience today; I was surfing around on an online dating/hook-up site, and saw this handsome looking man I had not seen before. I shot him a message, and, after some to-ing and fro-ing, it turns out that I know him. He never thought I was interested in him. I had asked him out several times back three or four years ago, and I thought he wasn't interested in me. So, what we were studying yesterday in class about perceptions and all - proven today in life.

Rainy Mondays

Okay, so I finally blogged on the Fabulair site. I need to ask Chuck to re-insert the link to that site on the Fabulair site, and to include the link to our "store" for merchandise. I thought (when I signed up) that one could incorporate the online store into one's own website, but .. I seem to be missing something.

Having lunch with Kurtis at 12:30 - somewhere.

I had in mind to bake bread today, too .. I should get on that, huh?

I have been thinking about the conservative "straight" community, and I have some ideas:

a.) If marriage is a sacred and sacrosanct institution that requires protection from "attack," then, let's jump on board. We protect marriage's position in society by making adultery criminally illegal, and make divorce impossible under ANY circumstances. One man, one woman, one chance.

b.) If gay people aren't allowed to adopt or foster children, why should we be expected to pay for public education?

c.) If the world can discriminate against gay people in hiring, housing, promotions and such, why can't we likewise discriminate in kind in reverse?

subject change

I've pretty much decided that I want to buy this 1981 Imperial that I found on the net. It's unique, it's loaded, it's like new, and it's very fun. I am going to upload a picture or two of it here as soon as I can get "Hello" to cooperate.

The murky mirror

Well, today's marathon church session went well; my "lesson" that I gave went very well. Got home around 4:30, finally. A LONG day. Not that my mood really improved any - what we worked on in the class didn't help, it just sort of focused my irritation.

I have no earthly idea what the foundation of this mood is; I know what the external symptoms are, but I haven't been able to connect them up with other behaviors and patterns that would clue me in as to what this is linked to. I'll literally have to spend this week focusing on this.

I also have to focus on everything else. I have Fabulair work to get done this week, want to work with Ryan on the new mortgage product that he and I cooked up, have tax returns to do, have to clean up the wreckage that is my apartment. Lilly Roddy said in my March horoscope that I should focus on bringing order into my environment. Since I've been getting things organized that have never been done in the seven years I've lived here, that's something to consider.

Oh, and I haven't even looked at my homework for tomorrow night yet. Yeah, that needs doing also. And, I need to bake more bread tomorrow. And do laundry.

Joey came by to retrieve some money for the little handyman tasks he's done for me; while I am grateful for the accomplishments, it has taken too much conversation and too much time for the three hours worth of work. He and T keep promising that they're going to work on Ruby's wiring harness, but not only do they days keep getting put off, the time promises never seem to materialize. So, I think it's time to find a reputable shop to re-wire the stereo and put in the OnStar before they stop supporting analog OnStar systems.

Part of what I'm stuck on, and part of why it's got Fabulair dead stuck too, is that I have a hard time seeing myself this accepted by the gay community. By gay men, specifically. That's a tie-in with the whole being stood up/rejected thing that I have encountered since about 1984. When I try to look into this, I get no inner monologue, and just want to go unconscious. What gives?

Anyway, I have a headache, have two days' worth of work to get done tomorrow, and need some sleep. I'm going to cogitate on this some more and see what comes in the morrow.
